Aims of the School
St. Helen’s Junior School was built in 1973 to replace the previous school in Ingrave Road, Brentwood. It serves the Catholic parishes of Brentwood and Warley, Ongar and Ingatestone. There are fourteen classrooms, ten in the main building and 4 classrooms in the new block. The school has a dual-purpose hall used for assembly, school Masses and school meals. The hall is well equipped Physical Education activities. There are changing rooms for boys and girls. The administrative area consists of a room for the Head, secretaries, staff and medical room. There is a fully equipped ICT suite which can accommodate 32 pupils, plus additional laptop computers for use in classrooms.
The school has a heated, covered swimming pool, used throughout the year by the Junior School and some schools in the area. The schools playing fields are adjacent to the building.
The school is situated in a pleasant rural area within 10-15 minutes walking distance from Brentwood Town centre.
St. Helen’s Junior School Academy is first and foremost a place of learning. Great emphasis is placed upon creating a caring and happy environment.
