Swimming

Swimming is an important life skill, as well as a valuable part of the school curriculum.
It helps to build confidence, improve physical fitness, and develop water safety awareness in a supportive and structured environment.

Our school has a 20m heated, covered swimming pool in which all children swim every week, throughout the year.
We follow the national curriculum badges from year 3 with the aim that all children will leave school being able to swim 25m competently, swim 3 different strokes for 10m and be able to treat water for 2 minutes.
We also cover water safety in the summer term.
Many children develop beyond these aims too, gaining distance badges and higher level skill badges.
